Get exclusive access to the most important art events on the island, such as Santurce es Ley, Urban Art Festival, MECA International Art Fair and La Perla Chiringas Festival/ Kite Festival at La Perla, among others.
Santurce es Ley is a project that wants to unify different micro projects of the independent art scene during the same weekend in Puerto Rico. Santurce es Ley is the first cultural festival organized by artists, independent gallery owners and the community, with the purpose of activating an art circuit in Santurce. For four consecutive years, it has solidified its position as the leading exhibitor of emerging contemporary art and creative programming in Puerto Rico.
MECA consists of 30+ exhibitors between 23 international galleries; 4 local galleries; 3 special projects; and 10 proposals for emerging artists and independent curators (MECANISMOS) selected through an open call that was evaluated by a curator, all within the main building of the Arsenal de la Marina Española in Old San Juan.
La Perla Chiringas Festival/ Kite Festival at La Perla:
Started in 2013, La Perla Chiringas Festival is a community and social practice art project by the artist Chemi Rosado Seijo in collaboration with the residents of La Perla. The Kite Festival, a collaboration of art and activism, is a formal artwork and workshop system empowering residents by providing opportunity for economic and creative growth.
